Prayer Shawl Ministry

The First Presbyterian members in this ministry knit not only shawls, but also baby blankets, preemie hats, scarves, lap robes, and other creative, colorful items. FPC can boast of both men and women members who have knitting skills! They provide these as gifts to church members, to people in the community and, in fact, the knitted gifts go to places around the world through a partnership with Knitting for Peace. See http://www.knitting4peace.org/.

When the group gathers there is laughter and fellowship. There is also a prayer that the knitted items will bless those that they reach. Donations are always appreciated in order to acquire the many rolls of knitting yarn needed. If you are interested in the knitting ministry, check the FPC bulletin to see when and where the group meets. They might be in the John Knox Room, in the library or in one of the classrooms. Call Jackie Ricks at 238-9812 for more information.
